Lion Phil D’Agostino reported on the Chicken BBQ. Asked the Board of Directors to reconsider giving the proceeds of this fundraiser to benefit Cody Westphal, son of Eric Westphal (former Kendall resident) who is suffering from a rare form of childhood cancer.

Lion Bob Henry reported on the Bell Ringing. Will be the weekend of December 14th & 15th at the Save-A-Lot in Albion, from 10am to 6pm. Will have 1 hour time slots, sign up sheet was passed around.

Lion Sonny reported on the Fall Conference. Need 2-4 volunteers for Hospitality Room 2 to 6pm at the Days Inn in Batavia.

Lion Frank Panczyzcyn reported on the State Convention. If interested in staying the night, will need $125.00 deposit to reserve your room. Registration needs to be in ASAP.

Lion Bob Ryan discussed the Club helping with the 1st night’s stay for the State Convention. Lots of discussion. Lion John Becker made a motion for the Club to recommend to the Exec.Board that the first night is paid for those that are voters. Lion Guy seconds the motion. Carried.

Lion Dan Peckham introduced District Governor, Kendall Lion Terry Bliss. Lion Terry thanked many of the Kendall lions for their help with the Fall Conference, drivers and especially Lion Randy for all his help as Cabinet Secretary/Treasurer.

Highlights of Lion Terry’s program:

Ÿ         Challenge to Change-resurrecting the Club Survey. Gave us a copy that we can send out to the members.

Ÿ         Checking with Schools and Doctor’s offices to see if there are needs for medical equipment.

Ÿ         How to retain members-out of every 7 members we lose 6. The problems we face are that we don’t get new members involved, that new members lack a sense of belonging. Need to give new members a chance, it takes a new member a little while to feel that sense of  belonging.

Before the club adjourned for the evening, Lion Jerry Reamer said that a young woman from the Liquor authority was checking on the Club, Lion Jerry directed her to Max Jones, the president of the Fire Company.

Lion John Wing makes motion to adjourn-motion carried.

Answers to the Bob Gregory’s questions on how we got Grace Scullin to visit. Lion Bev Bloss is chairperson of the Leader Dog program. She is from the Irondequoit Lions Club. Lion Bev lets the Clubs know when Grace will be visiting the area. District 20-E-1 reimburses the Bloss’ 28cents per mile for their travel.

The Kendall Lions Club will designate the proceeds from the Chicken BBQ to go to Cody Westphal’s parents to help cover expenses related to Cody’s medical condition. Lion Bob Ryan seconds the motion, Carried.

District Governor Terry Bliss had a check list for our Club. We have a very well run Club.

Note:    The Club should hold a short board meeting when the District Governor comes to visit and the District Governor should be the only item on the Agenda.
