Old Business:

Lion Terry Bliss reported on his visitations. He has traveled to 20 Clubs so far for the year. Lion John Wing drove Terry to Batavia on Monday night. The Club should be very thankful for the leadership and camaraderie of our Club. Also, noted that Lion Howard Conroy, Past District Governor, is having more surgery on his back. Lion Pat Butler has some serious concerns with cancer.

Lion Skip reported on Lion Ray. Lion Ray has an infection from his pace maker. Had to have that removed. Was able to come home, but while at home he fell and ripped the stitches open. He is room 201 and open to visitors. Typical Ray is very upbeat.

No other new business.

Lion Dave Schuth made another quick pitch for the February Lottery. These tickets make great stocking stuffers.

Program:

Lion Frank Lauta and Lion Paul put on a brief presentation on Internet Security. Some useful points- Everytime you forward an e-mail to someone, you are playing into the bad guys’ hands. Don’t open any forwards.

Chain letters are poison-don’t open them.

If computer is sluggish, usually means there is a virus.

Everyone should back-up their computer weekly, can burn on a CD, Flash Drive or a back-up drive which costs about $80.00.

Lion Paul can help you get a G-Mail account, it is through Google.

The Club really appreciated the information that Lion Frank and Lion Paul presented to the Club. Thank-you.

Lion Frank had a few suggestions on future programs-”Solid Waste and Landfills”” and “Being a Clown”.

Lion John Wing made motion to adjourn. Motion carried.

There was discussion on the Christmas Party on December 15th at the Kendall Fire Dept. The party will start at 6pm. The Club will use the Fire Depts alcohol permit. This will be acceptable as long as there are no bartenders, no cash and we bring in our own alcohol and take it out when we are done.

Lion John Wing also reported that a family of the Kendall area, where the Dad is in the hospital with diabetes, was given $300.00 from the Emergency Fund to help them get by.

Lion Paul is willing to get the various events and good deeds to the proper publications, but needs information about the events from the various Chairpersons. The Club needs a Publicity Chairperson.

Motion was made to take proceeds from the Chicken BBQ and take monies from the Activity account to give the Cody Westphal family $5000.00. Discussion, Motion carried.

Lion Bob Ryan brought up for discussion the possibility of the Club doing some type of event for the community. Suggestions: Concert with Hot Dogs and Soda, Winter Carnival, Lighting of the Christmas Tree at the Town Hall. Tabled for now.

Vision Screening Camera. Lion Dan Peckham, Lion Skip Scroger, Lion Dave Strassenburgh and Lion Mike Cusimano will work on getting this program underway right after the 1st of the year. The Kendall School Nurse is very interested in the vision screening. Possibly do this the last week of the school year for incoming Kindergarten classes.
