her fiance’ Craig States.
We also had Butch Kile & Tim Crawford from the Hamlin Lions Club.

Secretary’s Report Minutes
were read by Lion Debbie. Motion was made to accept the minutes, carried and
approved.
Treasurer’s Report presented by
Lion Paul Dittman. Lion Paul passed out a revised copy of budget for
2007-2008. The Club has approx.$12,763.98 in the checking acct as of 9/6/07.
Club has paid out $3498.50 for the football game but that will be paid back by
all the members going to the game. If we don’t count the football game, the
club actually has $16,362.48 plus $5763.50 in the Emergency Fund for a Grand
total of $22125.78. Paul has asked that the Champion or Chairperson for the
budgeted items to ask for the checks so that they can be written ahead of time
instead all at year end. Lion John Wing makes motion to accept treasurer’s
report, Lion Karl Emilson 2nds it, carried and approved.
Lion Paul also reported on
the Web site. Picture was put on the Web Site. While looking at Lions info,
picture will come up. The club will get head shots with a biography to help the
new members as well as the old members know who is who. In regards to the
calendar, anyone in the world, club, etc can put anything on the Web site, but
only Paul Dittman or Frank Lauta ( the administrators) can okay or approve the
information that was put on.

correspondence:
There was no correspondence.
Committee Reports:
Lion Jerry reported on tents.
Vacation Bible School sent check for $50.00 for use of the tents along with a
thank-you. Lion Jerry also reported on visitations for DG Terry Bliss. The
visitations are all set for the next 2 months. Lion Terry will be responsible
for bringing the vest around to the area clubs that he visits.
Lion John Wing reported on
the Walk-a-thon. This event will take place on Sat, Sept. 22nd, at
9am at the cemetery in Albion. Needs 1 more volunteer for the day, approx
1&½ hours of your time. Lion John, Karl Emilson with help from Guy
Maglocca. Lion Sonny has volunteered to help.
Lion John Wing reported on
the Spaghetti dinner. Lion John will meet with new chairman, Frank Downey on
Friday. Lion Frank is looking at changing the recipe for the spaghetti sauce.
Instead of Meatballs, having a meat sauce.
Lion Debbie reported on the
Arc of Orleans signature dinner. The club had 7 members with their spouses
attend this event for a total of 12. The dinner was great. J-mac along with his
father were very interesting speakers. Clarendon Lions Club won $2000.00 in the
reverse raffle. The Club paid $750 for a table of ten, with the $25 that each attendee
paid, the Club was able to give an additional $150.00.
Lion Dan Peckham reported on
the Pumpkin Patch. This event will be held at Wilson’s Farm on Saturday,
October 6th-raindate will be the following Saturday, October 13th.
Expecting between 100-150 kids & parents. This is a great 1st.event
for the year.
Lion Craig Herman was not
available to report on the Buffalo Football game. From last meeting’s report it
is sold out but you can sign up for the waiting list. This event will be on
Sunday, October 21st against Baltimore.
Lion Sonny reported on the
Fall conference. It will be held on Saturday, November 3rd at the
Days Inn in Batavia. Cost is $15.00 which includes Continental Breakfast, Lunch
and full day of seminars. Conference starts at 8:30am with the breakfast,
seminars will start at 10am. Days Inn is offering a nights stay at $49.00.
There will also be a dinner afterwards at Batavia Downs. Cost is $30.00, will
receive $5.00 in gambling money. Flyer will be going out on this. Lion Sonny is
looking for 3 to 4 volunteers to help with the hospitality room. Will be
serving beer, wine and soft drinks. Will start at 2:45pm til 6pm on Saturday.
Lion Sonny reported on the
State convention in Niagara Falls. The Board has approved to pay registration
for member and spouse of $30.00 per person. To guarantee rooms, 1night deposit
is required. Lion Sonny would like to have all the registrations and deposits
taken care of by the end of October, beginning of November. Please contact
Sonny if interested in staying the night. Because this event is so close,
members could just go up for the day.
Lion Sonny went with Bob
Furness and vice versa to the meetings for Terry’s District Governor
visitations on Monday and Wednesday. Lion Sonny said they ate very well. Told Terry
to take a nap, by the time they had traveled only 3miles, Terry was asleep.
This was a very nice experience to drive Terry to these meetings
Lion Skip reported on the
Vietnam Wall. Lion Skip thanked all the volunteers who signed up to help with the construction of the
platform. They didn’t need help after all because Lowe’s helped with lumber and
the construction. It was expected to have 500 motorcycles to escort the
memorial but only 300 showed up. There were approx. 70,000 people who attended
this event. Kendall Lions contributed $200 to this event along with the Hamlin
Lions who also contributed $200. Kendall Lions were mentioned in the brochure
that was handed out at the Vietnam Memorial.
Old Business:
Lion Jerry Reamer reported
that there was no conflict with September 20th.

Frank Downey for 2 year director. Lion
Sonny commented on the induction ceremony that DG Terry Bliss performed at 1 of
his visitations.
New Business:
Lion Butch Kile and Lion Tim
Crawford from the Hamlin Lions Club made a brief presentation on “Casino Night.
It will be held on Saturday, October 6th, starting at 7pm at the
VFW. There will be a DJ, finger food and a silent auction of 5-6 items. At the
end there will be the opportunity to bid on items using the play money that you
have accumulated throughout the evening. Cost is $20.00 per person, you will be
given $110 in play money, $30.00 per couple and $220.00 in play money.
Additional money can be purchased-$5.00 will get you $45.00 in play money.
Lion Jerry Reamer reported
for the good of the community that it received a $249,000 grant from FEMA to replace 2
firetrucks. It cost $475,000 to purchase the truck. The Fire Dept has $185,000
to help but still needs $40,000 to borrow to pay for the truck. This will be in
the paper, the truck has to be delivered 1 year after the contract has been
signed. This grant will enable the fire department to replace a 36 year and a
26year old truck. The fire department can’t sell the old trucks to another fire
company. The vote will be held in late October, early November.
Lion Karl makes a motion for
meeting to be adjourned, with Program to follow.
Program:
Heidi Drought, RN from Park Ridge Hospital gave a very interesting presentation on the treatment and prevention of Chronic Kidney Disease. Heidi is one of the nurses who has been helping Lion Ray with his treatments.
